Attendance Projects API: supports project owners

You can now use the Attendance Projects API to set and retrieve project owners using employee IDs. This enables integrations to manage project ownership in Bob alongside other project data, without assigning owners manually in the UI.

What changed

The /project/projectOwners field contains an array of employee ID strings. When Project Overview is enabled for your company, you can:

  • Set project owners when you create projects or update a project.
  • Request project owner IDs in project search results.
  • Discover the field using project metadata.

The field is not supported as a project search filter.

Good to know

  • On update, sending projectOwners replaces the full owner list. Omit the field to leave the existing owners unchanged.
  • Owners must be active, employed people in your company. They don't need to be included in the project's list of people who can log time.
  • If the field is missing from project metadata, contact your Bob admin or Customer Success to check whether Project Overview is enabled for your company.
  • The Projects API requires the existing permission to manage projects.
