Applicant API: Submit new hires to Bob through Marketplace apps

Approved ATS, EOR, and onboarding providers can now submit hired candidates to Bob through a standard partner API and build Marketplace apps that connect directly to Bob’s ATS Pending Hires flow.

Note: This API is for approved HiBob Marketplace partners with Developer Portal access and OAuth credentials. It is not for customers to call directly with Service users.

What’s new

This release adds a partner-facing Applicant API to submit new hires via Marketplace OAuth integrations.

With this API, approved partners can:

  • Connect to Bob through Marketplace OAuth, without manual token or Hire API connection setup in Bob
  • Discover Bob employee fields and document folders to build their own setup and field-mapping experience
  • Submit hired candidates using POST /v1/external-hires/applicants, with Bob employee field IDs and optional documents
  • Assign each submitted document to a selected Bob folder
  • Send candidates to ATS Pending Hires, notify Bob users who will review and approve them before completing the existing New Hire flow

Note: Field mapping and document-folder selection are configured in the partner’s app. New hire notifications are configured in Bob.

  • Gives partners a standard Marketplace path for connecting their hiring and onboarding apps to Bob
  • Uses OAuth instead of sharing or manually managing API tokens
  • Lets partners own field mapping and document configuration while preserving the familiar New Hire experience and notifications for HR

How does this affect you

  • No action is required for existing Hire API connections. They remain supported, and the ATS Pending Hires and New Hire flows stay the same.
  • If you are building a new Marketplace integration, use the Applicant API with OAuth.
  • Existing Hire API partners can publish an Applicant API app and guide customers through installation and setup when they are ready to switch.
  • If you are a HiBob customer whose ATS, EOR, or onboarding provider is not connected to Bob, ask them to contact HiBob at hibob.com/partner and select Become a Partner > Tech Partner.
